All Students

Please note the two new trees planted on the west edge of the concrete pad ... they are heartnuts (a Japanese walnut) known for growing quickly into big beautiful shade trees.  When older, these trees will help shade the east end of the parking lot, the concrete pad, and the west wall of the dojo during the hot summer months.  As walnuts are late to leaf out (I don't expect them to leaf out for another month) and lose their leaves relatively early in the fall, the late fall/winter/spring sun will be able to warm the dojo when we want the warmth!
A grateful shout out to Brendan, Conner and Leela who helped dig the holes and plant, mulch and cage these trees. Good work!
Parents - Please be careful when backing up or turning around in the parking lot around these two young trees! THANK YOU.
