Dojo remodel

We are still waiting on the delivery of the tongue and groove fir siding for facing the inside wall.

Frustrating, since it is now 8 weeks past when it was supposed to be delivered :(

Once the wood is delivered we expect to get it up fairly quickly, and (at this time) expect to have the dojo ready to go by the end of June.

Thank you for your patience!

Tai Chi students - May classes

Quick reminder that May tai chi classes are an hour earlier now, from 10 am - 11 am.

Keep in mind if it is raining (or sleeting, or hailing, or snowing ...) class will be canceled.
Not sure? Call me at 541-663-6756 and listen to the voicemail message Emoji

Starting Friday May 14th there will also be class on Fridays (also from 10 am - 11 am).

Masks - if you have been fully vaccinated and are past the 2 week waiting period, mask wearing is optional.  I will continue to wear a mask. We will still keep social distancing (6') and class is outside. As a matter of courtesy, please let me and the class know if you have not yet been fully vaccinated.

There is NO charge for May classes.  Class fees will resume in June.

Tai chi classes start up in April

 Tai chi students:

It's starting to look (and sometimes feel) like spring out in the orchard ... time to start breaking out of my winter hibernation 😊

I anticipate starting up tai chi classes - outside, social distance, with facemasks - the first full week of April (April 5th).

I expect the class times to be Tuesday and Thursday mornings 11 am - 11:45 am (weather dependent), although that can (and probably will) be adjusted as we go.

Class will be simple - chi gung warm ups, running through the long form, and closing exercises.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Remodel in progress

We have started on an ambitious project this winter while classes have been closed down - we are insulating the inside of the dojo!

Right now the mirrors and heaters are down and studs are ready to put up.  Not being skilled carpenter types, we are hiring out that part.

Once the studs are up we (and our intrepid crew - Caden and Conner) will be laying in the insulation (a blend of wool and hemp manufactured in Idaho) and putting up the new wall.

When it comes time for the finish work, especially around the windows and doors, we will be hiring that out also.

Our goal is to have the dojo ready to go May 1st, but keep checking in, and we will post updates as we go.
